Here are the thumbnails I have been working on in terms of environment work. I have created a Line, Value and Colour version of each of the four designs as you can see below.

Looking at Composition

We had a lecture on Composition a few days ago, where Nigel explained to us the best way to construct a piece to make it the most aesthetically pleasing for a viewer. Here I have applied what he has taught me to images that I have taken a particular liking to, as I further my understanding of effectively using composition.

1) Kingdom Hearts

This particular piece of work is from Kingdom Hearts (my favourite game series... period) showing all of the characters from Kingdom Hearts 1, Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 2. As you can see I have annotated this piece with the composition lines I feel could have been used to construct the piece. The work fits into the Iconic composition structure, also known as Virtual Symmetry. The way the characters are arranged within the piece is almost exactly in line with this particular structure, and the overall diamond shape of the piece could also be influenced by this structure.

2) Mark Molnar

This particular piece is done by a concept artist called Mark Molnar, and that is all I know about him. His work can be found here, if you are interested. The landscape he has created here falls, in my mind, into a variation of the L shape composition structure, also know as a frame within a frame. As you can see from the way I have annotated this piece, the first frame is positioned on the right hand side, framing the castle on the left that's framing the backdrop of the work.

Character Sheet

Here is my finished character sheet, displaying 6 emotions that the character I have created could express throughout the game.

Model Sheet

Here it is, after much longer than I expected I have managed to produce the Front, Back and Side views of my soldier. This image is ready for a modeler to come and make a 3D model of the character, as it shows the character in all the necessary angles.
